Travel with EESTEC

Noodle Yeti Ecstasy IMW – LC Krakow

The decision to apply to LC Krakow’s International Motivational Weekend was pretty much inspired by my brother who wanted to spend New Year’s Eve with his favorite LC. So here we were applying for the IMW, which was held in Piwniczna, a village up in the mountains surrounded by tons of snow.

I arrived one day earlier to meet up my brother and explore once again one of our favorite cities in Europe. A bus took us to Piwniczna and that was when it all began…

From day one the schedule had some amazing things, like the bonfire party. We would actually sit around a fire and grilled food would be there to cozy us up along with some blankets, just like leaving in the woods. I have to admit it was really awesome!

Day two was mostly dedicated to trips. The Organizing Committee had several options for all tastes. Some would go for a hike up in the mountain, some would go skiing and some would go ice skating. Personally, I went skiing since I don’t very often have the chance to do it. One of the organizers was a certified instructor so he was there to show us the ropes for those who didn’t have much experience. In the evening, it was the New Year’s Eve Party. Everyone was dressed up fancy for the big countdown. We welcomed the new year with a lot of fireworks, smiles and wishes for another great year ahead (no one saw what was coming in the next few months:P).

Day three included a flanki competition and of course preparations for the International Night, because what EESTEC event would it be if there wasn’t an International Night, right? As always all countries presented their food and drinks and last but not the host, LC Krakow. It was an amazing night trying all the food and drinks from the branches that were present and danced all the EESTEC dances.

Day four was unfortunately the last one and we hoped on the bus to head back to Krakow, taking with us all these amazing memories.

Overall, I have to say that it was one of the most memorable experiences and I would definitely do it again. Was so thrilled to see once again EESTECers I knew from before and meet some new ones as well.

If you want to do something different for your next New Year’s Eve, don’t miss out on this event and I assure you you won’t regret it.
