EESTech Challenge is a hackathon, namely a sprint-programming event, organized by EESTEC. This year marks the 7th year of the event, and the 5th consecutive year that LC Thessaloniki organizes a local round. EESTech Challenge aims to create opportunities for European students to gain knowledge in the field of EECS and develop their professional network. The technological topic of the competition for 2023 is “Mobile App Development: Gamification”.

Mobile application development is the process of creating software applications that run on a mobile device. Gamification is adding game mechanics into nongame environments, like a website or an application! Its goal is to increase participation and engagement of the users, inspire them and encourage collaboration and interaction. These days, mobile apps are everywhere and can be used to solve various problems of our everyday lives.

Our local event, EESTech Challenge Thessaloniki, will be hosted on the 18th and 19th of March. The first day of the event will focus on academic lectures regarding the topic of Mobile App Development-Gamification, whereas on the second day, our Local Round of the competition will be held in the form of a hackathon, where our participants will be split into teams competing against each other. The winners will participate in the Final Round which will take place in a different branch of EESTEC.
